Sustainability

Wageningen University & Research

In collaboration with the Wageningen University & Research (WUR), OPS. and the WUR conducted scientific research on the ecological and social sustainability of Hemp compared to Cotton.

Our brand made sure from the beginning to become environmentally and socially sustainable in all parts of the supply chain. The WUR scientific report helped us tackle the biggest sustainability obstacles and become one of the most sustainable brands in Europe. Our goal is not to make a profit, our goal is to make a difference.

Social Sustainability

Fair Wages

Our factory in Turkey provides fair wages to it's employees and makes sure that the people are well taken care of.

NO Child- and forced labour

There is not a single trace of child- or forced labour in our entire supply chain, as it should be. Only people with a love for fashion are employed.

Prodution Safety

The main hazards of textile production: mechinical, chemical, and psychosocial hazards, are all prevented by our factory.

Respect For Local Communites

Local communties should never be negatively impacted by the production of clothes. We choose to have a positive impact on local communities.

Environmental Sustainability

Carbon Footprint

Our clothing has around 75% fewer carbon emissions compared to standard cotton clothing.

Water Footprint

Our clothing has around 75% less water consumption compared to regular cotton clothing.

Ecological Footprint

Our ecological footprint is around half that of regular cotton clothing (measured in gha).

NO Fertilizers or Chemicals Are Used

Hemp growth required minimal to no usage of fertilizers. Compare this to the 25% of all fertilizers in the world that are used in the cotton industry.
