Why Hemp?

The first thing we need to point out is that Hemp is not the same as Weed. Even though they both belong to the Cannabis sativa family, both plants have different uses. Weed is mainly used to get you high because of the psychoactive ingredient known as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and Hemp is mainly used to create strong, durable, and sustainable industrial products. Weed has a THC value of around 15-20% and
Hemp only has a THC value of less than 0,3%.

Clothing made from Hemp is also stronger, better for your body and much more sustainable than clothing made from Cotton.

Hemp has a history that is intertwined with the history of mankind, dating back around 10.000 years. This plant is also one of the most sustainable plants on the planet. Hemp is the most effective converter of Co2 to oxygen, absorbing around 1,5 tonnes of Co2 for every tonne of Hemp, which is more effective than trees. Compared to cotton, Hemp can be mainly fed by rainfall instead of using water reserves for irrigation and on top of that, only needs around 1/4th the amount of water. Hemp also needs around half the amount of land compared to cotton and it also regenerates the soil so other crops can be grown more successfully after Hemp is removed.
